Pipeline and therapy

  • Laromestrocel is an allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell therapy derived from bone marrow of healthy young adults; development spans HLHS, PDCM, Alzheimer’s disease and aging-related frailty.

  • Programs: ongoing pivotal Phase 2b in HLHS; IND-approved PDCM program; Alzheimer’s disease completed through Phase 2a; aging-related frailty completed through Phase 2b.

  • Proposed mechanisms include pro-vascular and regenerative activity, anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects, and support for intrinsic tissue repair.

Hypoplastic left heart syndrome

  • ELPIS I reported 100% transplant-free survival among 10 participants through follow-up of 3 years 8 months to 5 years 2 months post-Stage II surgery; the matched SVR group had 83.1% estimated 5-year survival.

  • ELPIS II is a randomized, blinded, multicenter Phase 2b study of 40 participants comparing standard of care with laromestrocel administered during Stage II surgery; enrollment completed June 2025.

  • ELPIS II primary endpoint is time to death or transplant listing through 12 months; topline data are anticipated in Q3 2026.

  • HLHS has Orphan Drug, Fast Track and Rare Pediatric Disease designations; a pre-BLA meeting with FDA is among the priorities for the next 12 months.

Pediatric dilated cardiomyopathy

  • PDCM affects at least 100,000 children worldwide; ~40% of children with dilated cardiomyopathy require transplant or die within two years of diagnosis.

  • FDA accepted the PDCM IND in July 2025 and supports moving directly to a single pivotal Phase 2b/3 registrational trial; trial enrollment is planned subject to financing.
