GTC Berlin 2026 Keynote summary
21 Oct, 2026Europe’s AI economy
Nearly $10 billion invested across Europe in the past year; 14 startup investments announced during the week, bringing the regional partnership network to 12,000+.
AI framed as a new industrial revolution, with infrastructure producing intelligence to transform existing industries and enable new ones.
Europe’s AI stack spans energy, advanced computing, AI factories, models and applications; regions were urged to produce AI, not only consume it.
AI models extend beyond language into biology, chemistry, physics, robotics and animation; the European AI economy was described as accelerating.
AI factory infrastructure
Vera Rubin entered full production; performance was described as 30x Blackwell’s in two years, following a 1 million-fold AI performance improvement over 11 years through co-design.
Vera Rubin was presented as a full-stack AI factory platform spanning compute, storage, networking, libraries and models, with significantly cheaper tokens than the next-leading accelerator; NVL72, MGX, CMX and RTX nodes serve distinct workloads.
Vera Rubin systems use fully liquid cooling and take under five minutes to assemble, versus two hours for a Grace Blackwell node; NVLink connects 72 GPUs into one system.
DSX is a full-stack AI factory reference architecture; DSX MaxLPS uses 30% less power for the same output, while DSX at 2 GW can save 54 million liters of water daily.
DSX Pod delivers factory-integrated, cabled and tested Vera Rubin systems in containers, targeting on-site deployment in days rather than months; supply-chain integration aims to cut compute-arrival-to-token-production time from four to five months to ~1 month.
Agents and security
Agents were defined by five components—model, harness, sandbox, knowledge and tools; token use reached 34x its level at the start of February, driving GPU demand.
OpenShell provides open-source, policy-enforced agent sandboxes with gateway, supervisor and policy-prover components; Sentry on BlueField-4 adds hardware-isolated monitoring and quarantines unintended activity in milliseconds.
More than 100 partners were shown advancing agent safety with OpenShell, including Anthropic, AWS, Cisco, Google Cloud, Microsoft, SAP and Siemens.
Anthropic partnerships include Claude OpenShell agents and Claude Managed Agents, with security and control layers for agents handling private financial data.
