2 Jul, 2025Project overview and strategic positioning
Colossus Ionic Clay Project targets rare earths in the Poços de Caldas Alkaline Complex, a globally significant mineralized region with strong local support and infrastructure for mining activities.
Landholding expanded to 239 km², with a maiden resource estimate (MRE) covering only 16 km², indicating significant exploration upside.
Project is the only one in the complex with both local and state government agreements, de-risking regulatory and environmental approvals.
Joint venture with Ionic Rare Earths provides access to advanced REO separation and refining technology, supporting downstream integration.
Board and management have a track record in delivering major rare earth projects, with an in-country team of 40+ professionals.
Resource highlights and exploration results
Maiden resource: 201Mt @ 2,590ppm TREO, with 668ppm MREO (26% of TREO), and high Dy-Tb content at 1,000ppm cut-off.
High-grade zones include Cupim South (3,061ppm TREO, 857ppm MREO) and intercepts up to 27,087ppm TREO.
No part of the resource sits within environmental encumbrances, supporting development potential.
Exploration drilling continues to expand high-grade footprints, with several prospects open at depth and along strike.
Significant heavy rare earth potential confirmed at Fazenda prospect, with shallow high-grade Dy-Tb intercepts.
Metallurgy, processing, and technology
Bulk metallurgical testing shows some of the highest ionic recoveries globally: up to 80% Nd-Pr and 66% Dy-Tb in initial tests.
Average recoveries across deposits: Northern Concessions (Nd+Pr 63%, Dy+Tb 65%), Cupim South (Nd+Pr 67%, Dy+Tb 53%).
Flowsheet developed with ANSTO includes ion exchange, impurity removal, and precipitation, with no radioactive waste.
JV with Ionic Rare Earths enables selective separation of all 17 REEs and access to rare earth recycling technology.
Downstream integration allows production of both mixed rare earth carbonate and refined oxides, depending on offtake agreements.
