Executive summary
H1 FY2027 operating revenue rose 13.8% to ¥5,904.2bn and operating profit rose 10.7% to ¥130.7bn, both first-half records.
Health and wellness, developer and entertainment, and international businesses supported growth; food retail faced weak demand, pricing pressure, and higher costs.
Financial highlights
Ordinary profit increased 1.7% to ¥108.3bn; profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 229.1% to ¥13.3bn from ¥4.0bn.
Gross profit was ¥1,447.2bn versus ¥1,279.7bn; SG&A rose to ¥1,999.5bn from ¥1,782.1bn.
Operating profit was 38.4% of the full-year target and approximately ¥15bn–¥20bn below internal plan.
Outlook and guidance
FY2027 forecast unchanged: revenue ¥12,000bn, operating profit ¥340bn, ordinary profit ¥290bn, and parent-attributable profit ¥73bn.
H2 priorities include food retail recovery, cost control, and continued growth in health and wellness and developer and entertainment.
Food retail actions include competitive pricing, TOPVALU Best Price and private-label sales, improved promotions and fresh/deli offerings, and cost reform.
