Executive summary
FY2026 net sales rose 15.5% to $205.4M; comparable store sales increased 2.6%, with growth supported by the European Boutique acquisition and Birks branded jewelry.
Operating income improved to $3.1M from a $5.5M loss; net loss narrowed to $3.4M from $12.8M.
Financial highlights
Gross profit increased $12.9M to $79.2M, reflecting higher sales volume, jewelry sales and a foreign exchange gain, partly offset by timepiece sales and mix.
SG&A rose $9.0M to $68.5M, mainly due to the acquisition, higher occupancy and compensation costs; SG&A was 33.4% of sales versus 33.5%.
Net loss was $3.4M, or $0.17 per share, versus $12.8M, or $0.66 per share, in FY2025.
Outlook and guidance
A new Birks mono-brand store is planned to open in fall 2026 at Vancouver’s Oakridge mall.
Cost-containment initiatives and savings opportunities remain a focus; growth plans include evaluating store productivity, new locations, renovations and e-commerce investment.
