Executive summary
Revenue for H1 was HK$34.48 billion, down 1.8% year-over-year; profit attributable to owners fell 24.2% to HK$1.33 billion and basic EPS dropped 24.4% to 24.7 HK cents.
Free cash flow increased 17.2% to HK$2.6 billion, with stable positive momentum expected to continue.
MSCI ESG rating upgraded to A, with other ESG ratings and governance metrics also improving.
Management remains confident in future growth, supported by operational improvements and AI adoption.
The Group maintained 662 piped gas projects and expanded its user base despite macroeconomic challenges.
Financial highlights
H1 total revenue was HK$34.48 billion; natural gas revenue HK$20.4 billion (up 3.8%), LPG HK$8.38 billion (down 12.3%), value-added services HK$2.02 billion (up 0.3%).
Gross profit reached HK$5.51 billion, down 6%; profit for the year HK$1.77 billion, down 21.9%.
Profit attributable to owners was HK$1.33 billion, down 24.2%; basic EPS HK$24.7 cents, down 24.4%.
Interim dividend payout maintained at HK$15 cents per share.
Net cash flow from operating activities was HK$3.13 billion; free cash flow HK$2.6 billion.
Outlook and guidance
Dollar margin guidance at 0.55 RMB per cubic meter; city and town gas sales volume expected to grow 0–2%.
Residential new connections targeted at 1–1.2 million households for the full year.
Value-added services operating profit expected to grow 10%+; C&I BTM energy storage in operation to reach 800 MWh.
