Executive summary
Net income for Q2 2025 was $2.97 billion, up 33.1% year-over-year, with record core operating income of $2.5 billion, driven by strong P&C and Life segment growth and higher investment returns.
Core operating EPS reached $6.14, up 14% year-over-year; net income per share rose 34.6% to $7.35.
Consolidated net premiums written increased 6.3% to $14.2 billion, with P&C up 5.8% and Life Insurance up 17.3%.
P&C combined ratio improved to 85.6%, with current accident year ex-catastrophe at 82.3%.
Book value per share and tangible book value per share increased 6.1% and 8.0% sequentially, supported by investment and FX gains.
Financial highlights
Pre-tax net investment income hit a record $1.57 billion, up 6.8% year-over-year; adjusted net investment income was $1.69 billion, up 7.9%.
P&C underwriting income was $1.63 billion, up 15% year-over-year; total revenues increased 7.2% to $14.84 billion.
Operating cash flow for the quarter was $3.55 billion.
Catastrophe losses for the quarter were $630 million, with favorable prior period development of $249 million.
Book value per share and tangible book value per share increased 9.0% and 12.2% from year-end 2024.
