Cloudera is a software company that builds and sells data management systems. Cloudera's analytic software platform leverages Hadoop, an open-source framework licensed under the Apache License. Cloudera Enterprise, the company's flagship product, combines its software with third-party storage, management and other components to provide an enterprise-class analytics platform that solves most commercial use cases for machine learning and business intelligence in the cloud or on premises. Since late 2021 Cloudera Inc is no longer a public company, as a result of being acquired by affiliates of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (“CD&R”) and KKR in an all cash transaction valued at approximately $5.3 billion.
