Executive summary
Net sales rose 4.4% year-over-year to ¥148,943 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, with operating income up 17.6% to ¥21,893 million and net income attributable to shareholders up 20.6% to ¥15,859 million.
Growth was driven by strong performance in Energy & Environment and Materials & Semiconductor, while Bio & Healthcare saw a decline.
Comprehensive income dropped sharply to ¥6,900 million from ¥33,754 million a year earlier, mainly due to negative foreign currency translation adjustments.
Financial highlights
Gross margin improved to 44.8% from 43.5% year-over-year; operating margin increased to 14.7% from 13.0%.
Cash and cash equivalents at period-end were ¥151,974 million, up from ¥134,237 million a year earlier.
Net assets stood at ¥313,905 million with a shareholders' equity ratio of 65.4%.
Net cash provided by operating activities surged to ¥29,864 million from ¥9,955 million year-over-year.
Outlook and guidance
Full-year 2025 guidance maintained: net sales ¥335,000 million (+5.6%), operating income ¥52,000 million (+7.6%), net income attributable to shareholders ¥36,000 million (+7.2%).
Segment profit guidance revised: Energy & Environment operating income raised by ¥500 million, Bio & Healthcare lowered by ¥500 million.
Dividend forecast unchanged at ¥290 per share for FY2025.
