Indigo Books & Music Inc operates stores under the names of Indigo, Chapters and Coles in eights provinces of Canada, as well as small format stores under the names of Indigospirit, The Book Company, SmithBooks and World's Biggest Bookstore. It also sells books and gift items on the Internet through its chapters.indigo.ca and coles.ca websites; and manufactures and distributes gift cards under the Chatpers, Indigo, Indigospirit and Coles brands. As of March 28, 2020, it operated 88 superstores comprising 87 Indigo and Chapters superstores in Canada, 1 Coles store in NewYork City;and 141 small-format stores comprising 85 Indigo Books & Music stores, 40 Coles stores, 10 Indigospirit stores and 16 The Book Company stores. In addition, the company offers manufacturing services to other specialty retailers through its Kobo Inc., a digital reading platform subsidiary.
