Executive summary
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, decreased 2.0% year-over-year to ¥454,794 million, while business profit surged 63.8% to ¥14,036 million and operating profit rose 21.4% to ¥13,526 million.
Profit attributable to owners of the parent dropped 39.8% year-over-year to ¥6,510 million, and comprehensive income turned negative at ¥(8,222) million, reflecting significant fair value losses and currency translation impacts.
Despite robust capital investment and business confidence, the outlook is challenged by global economic uncertainties, including U.S. trade policies and slowdowns in China and Europe.

Gross profit for the quarter was ¥63,755 million, down from ¥69,113 million year-over-year; basic EPS fell to ¥20.45 from ¥31.53.
Total assets decreased to ¥1,541,750 million from ¥1,565,391 million at the previous fiscal year-end; equity attributable to owners of the parent fell to ¥729,069 million.
Cash and cash equivalents at quarter-end were ¥138,261 million, up from ¥119,060 million at the previous year-end.
Net cash provided by operating activities increased to ¥36,004 million from ¥26,179 million year-over-year.
Outlook and guidance
Full-year revenue forecast is ¥1,770,000 million, with business profit projected at ¥60,000 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent at ¥20,000 million (up 45.8% year-over-year).
Basic earnings per share for the full year is forecast at ¥62.83; no changes to the previously announced guidance.
Exchange rate assumptions for the remainder of the year are 140 yen/USD and 160 yen/EUR.
