Executive summary
Net profit for H1 2025 was 584 million PLN, down 3% year-over-year, with revenue up 8% to 1,600 million PLN and cash EBITDA up 9% to 1,300 million PLN, ahead of internal expectations and driven by growth in Italy, Spain, and Poland.
Investments in debt portfolios decreased 10% year-over-year to 805 million PLN, while cash recoveries from purchased portfolios increased 10% to 1,910 million PLN.
All markets were profitable in Q2, with strong performance in Poland, Romania, and Italy, and record-high cash EBITDA for the six months.
Return on equity stood at 22% for the past six months, and the carrying amount of the debt portfolio reached 10.8 billion PLN, up 18% year-over-year.
Digital transformation is underway, with incremental gains expected and major productivity improvements anticipated after 2029.
Financial highlights
Net profit: 584 million PLN (-3% y/y); revenue: 1,600 million PLN (+8% y/y); cash EBITDA: 1,300 million PLN (+9% y/y).
Operating and administrative expenses increased by 13%, mainly due to salary growth and digital transformation costs.
Net debt: 6,275 million PLN (+17% y/y); equity: 4.8 billion PLN (+16% y/y); net debt/cash EBITDA: 2.5x.
Release of deferred tax provision in Q2 amounted to 37 million PLN, resulting in a likely mid-single-digit effective tax rate for the year.
Net profit margin for H1 2025: 36.5%.
Outlook and guidance
On track to achieve net profit growth for the year and to deploy 2.5 billion PLN in portfolio purchases.
Management expects continued sustainable growth, regular dividend payouts, and a net debt-to-cash EBITDA ratio at or below 3.0.
Less conservative recovery projections for the next 6 months due to recurring positive deviations between actual and projected recoveries.
Effective tax rate expected to rise to at least 15% from 2027 due to global tax changes, but no significant impact from Pillar Two tax regulations is expected before 2027.
