Executive summary
Net sales for Q1 FY2025 were ¥171,866 million, down 8.7% year-over-year, with operating income rising 23.9% to ¥7,002 million and profit attributable to owners of parent falling 18.3% to ¥5,729 million.
Operating income increased due to higher sales in the Seal business and successful price revisions, but ordinary income and net profit declined due to foreign exchange losses.
Financial highlights
Gross profit for Q1 FY2025 was ¥31,329 million, up from ¥30,184 million year-over-year.
Ordinary income dropped 28.3% year-over-year to ¥8,625 million, mainly due to foreign exchange losses.
Net income per share was ¥35.11, down from ¥42.62 in Q1 FY2024.
Comprehensive income decreased sharply to ¥7,710 million from ¥18,906 million year-over-year.
Outlook and guidance
Full-year FY2025 net sales forecast is ¥707,100 million (down 7.8% year-over-year), with operating income projected at ¥37,700 million (up 1.2%) and profit attributable to owners of parent at ¥36,500 million (up 20.4%).
