Opening remarks and agenda
Chairman welcomed attendees, confirmed quorum, introduced board members and auditors, and outlined the meeting agenda, focusing on financial performance, digital growth, and strategic initiatives.
Financial performance review
FY 2025 group revenue declined 4% to $1,354m, EBITDA down 15%, profit before tax down 55%, and underlying profit after tax down 27% to $57m.
H2 earnings grew in line with guidance: EBITDA up 6%, TV EBITDA up 4%, underlying NPAT up 33%.
Seven Plus revenue grew 26% for the year (H2 +41%), with daily active users up 27% and streaming minutes up 41%.
TV advertising revenue declined 4% for the year, with a 1% decline in H2; 7plus ad revenue increased 26%.
The West's digital platforms achieved 54.5M monthly page views, up 4.5% year on year; advertising revenue declined 7% but circulation revenue rose 4%, and costs were down 3%.
Board and executive committee updates
Chairman and Michael Malone to retire; Heath Mackay Cruz to become Chairman, Geoff Howard to be CEO of the merged entity.
Several board members, including Therese Tyson and Ryan Stokes, will join the merged company board.
Colette Guernsey retired from the board at this AGM.
