DFS economics
Base case at US$1,500/t SC6 FOB real: post-tax NPV8 A$1.503bn, IRR 28.4%, 3.8-year payback and A$774m pre-production capex.
Base-case C1 cost US$570/t and AISC US$709/t; 8% real post-tax discount rate and AUD:USD 0.70.
Post-tax NPV8 ranges from A$765m at US$1,250/t to A$4.438bn at US$2,500/t; Fastmarkets’ US$2,328/t average case yields A$3.539bn.
Average annual post-tax free cash flow from payback is A$448m at the base case and A$840m under the Fastmarkets base curve; downside at US$1,250/t remains cash positive at A$327m/year.
Production and mine plan
DFS brings Stage 2 production of ~600ktpa forward to Year 3, versus Year 7 in the July 2025 PFS; first concentrate is scheduled for Q1 CY2029.
LOM concentrate production remains broadly unchanged at ~6.2Mt; the revised schedule brings ~1Mt forward by 2035 and lifts peak annual output by 318kt in 2032 versus the PFS.
Integrated open-pit and underground plan mines 48.3Mt of ore: 38.1Mt open pit and 10.2Mt underground; 79% of ore tonnes are open pit.
Planned mill feed is 46.2Mt at 1.00% Li₂O, with 74% modelled recovery and 6.2Mt of 5.5% Li₂O concentrate; laboratory testwork recovery reached 75.7%.
The DFS estimates A$1.0bn incremental free cash flow for 2029–2035 versus the PFS and cumulative positive cash flow two years earlier, in 2032.
Resource, processing and location
Tabba Tabba has a 73.5Mt Mineral Resource at 1.0% Li₂O, 94% Indicated, and a 48.3Mt Probable Ore Reserve at 0.97% Li₂O.
The project is ~80km by road from Port Hedland, with granted mining leases, a permitted water licence and an existing project access corridor secured by granted tenure.
Processing uses ore sorting and conventional grinding, magnetic separation, desliming and 100% flotation; the DFS models 74% LOM recovery versus 75.7% achieved in testwork.
A regrind circuit demonstrated potential to improve overall Li₂O recovery by 4.7%, while providing recovery, concentrate-grade and feed-flexibility protection.
