15 Oct, 2026Global footprint and manufacturing
Established in 1994; exports to over 90 countries, with operational units in India, Switzerland and Vietnam.
India’s Duggirala plant produced the country’s first freeze-dried instant coffee in 2005; a new freeze-dried unit at Kuvvakoli can double capacity.
Switzerland operations focus on coffee agglomeration and instant-coffee packaging; the Vietnam plant is in Dak Lak province.
More than 1,000 cups of Continental coffee are consumed every second worldwide.
Product range and capabilities
Portfolio spans spray-dried coffee powder and granules, freeze-dried coffee, freeze-concentrated liquid coffee, roasted beans, roast and ground coffee, and premix coffee and tea.
Formats include pure coffee, coffee-chicory blends, cold brew, microground, flavoured, functional, decaffeinated and certified products.
Freeze drying at -60°C is presented as preserving coffee extract compounds and product quality; freeze concentration operates at sub-zero temperatures to retain aroma and sensory properties.
R&D and ongoing product development support new blends and capacity expansion.
A pour-over product uses a single-use 10 g coffee bag to make 100 ml; it is designed for cup mounting and planned as a five-bag multipack.
Consumer brands and market expansion
Continental brands entered India’s B2C market after establishing a B2B coffee business; institutional and vending divisions serve airlines, hotel chains, corporates and cafés.
Indian instant offerings include Continental Xtra, a 70% coffee and 30% chicory blend, and Continental Speciale, 100% coffee; both are listed in 50 g, 100 g and 200 g packs.
Consumer launches include flavoured and decaffeinated coffee, 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 premixes, flavoured premixes, and turmeric latte.
Europe launch products include freeze-dried decaf and cold brew, certified freeze-dried coffee, Continental Xtra and Speciale, and Continental Malgudi roast and ground coffee.
