Leggett & Platt, Incorporated Leggett & Platt designs, manufactures and sells engineered components and products worldwide. It operates through three segments: Bed Products, Specialized Products and Furniture and Flooring Products. The Bed Products segment includes steel and aluminum bed frames, box springs, innerspring units, adjustable bed bases, wire forms and upholstered bedding components. The Specialized Product segment includes work furniture products, such as height-adjustable desks for corporate environments; precision die castings for automotive markets; a range of businesses including compression spring products for aerospace industries; specialty wire products for distributor customers; hardened gears for power train applications. The Furniture and Flooring Products segment offers floor covering underlayment materials; foam systems for the furniture industry; carpet cushion and padding. The company was founded by J.P. Leggett and C.B. Platt on July 14, 1883 and is headquartered in Carthage, MO.
