Total retail sales rose 3.0% year-on-year for the 16 weeks to 18 January 2025, with growth in both food and drink sales.
Like-for-like sales increased 2.0%, reflecting strong festive trading but offset by poor weather in November and January.
Festive trading period (22 Dec–4 Jan) saw like-for-like sales up 11.1%, with record sales on Christmas Day.
