Sami Osman

Co-founder
ExperienceBorn October 8th, 1996 in Gävle, Sweden, Sami later moved to Gothenburg for his studies. After finishing at Gothenburg University, he took an accountant role but quit just nine months in, determined to find work he’d actually want to wake up for. While searching for something interesting within finance, Sami started trading for himself. He’s the first to admit he didn’t really know what he was doing, but his willingness to learn and obsession with staying on top of the latest news led him to a realization: there was unnecessary friction in the process of studying companies’ IR material. He pitched the idea of a slick mobile app that could pull this data together to a few friends on financial Twitter – hoping to solve the pain point for himself and others like him. That early pitch is what eventually brought the founding team together. It took more than six months of back-and-forth on Twitter before Sami actually met his co-founders in person, and in December 2020, they founded Quartr. Sami served as CEO until May 2024, when he handed the role over to his co-founder Oscar Küntzel, who leads the company today. He describes himself as mediocre at most things, while being very interested in human beings in general and having an eye for recognizing talent. He also spends an unhealthy amount of time watching European football.
