Financial highlights
Standalone revenue from operations for Q1 FY2025-26 was ₹3,925.30 crore, down from ₹4,064.27 crore in Q1 FY2024-25.
Standalone net profit after tax was ₹127.85 crore, compared to ₹217.80 crore in the same quarter last year.
Gross margin declined by 13.57% year-over-year, mainly due to lower income from Ministry of Railways and higher contribution from lower-margin bidding projects.
Net margin was impacted by one-time expenses totaling INR 60 crore, including pre-bid consultancy and owner costs.
Revenue from railway projects declined by 25% year-over-year, but turnover from bidding projects increased threefold, offsetting the decline.
Outlook and guidance
Management expects to not only match but exceed last year's revenue by the end of FY26, with a strong recovery anticipated from Q2 onwards.
Margins are expected to improve as bidding projects progress and claims are settled.
Regular production and revenue recognition for the Vande Bharat train sets are expected to begin in FY27, following prototype rollout in June 2026.
The company continues to focus on the development of rail infrastructure as its primary operating segment.
